New York, New York!

July 19th, 2006 by olivicmic

First off, an update about me. School is going alright. This quarter it seems that all my classes are enjoyable as opposed to one standing out above the others. One interesting note however … I don’t have any classes where I am required to draw. That hasn’t happened with my schedule since San Antonio. It brings up an interesting point … maybe I’ll make more of my illustrations now that I don’t *have* to. So hopefully la virgen de la muerte (click here) will be done soon.

I have to apologize for a second guys, I actually wrote the first paragraph last night and left the computer here and fell asleep. Anyway I’ll pretend like it’s the same day and you should too!

The other day I had gone to develop some film because I thought I had a roll with a particular set of pictures on it. Unfortunately it wasn’t *that* roll and it wasn’t entirely used up … oh well. To a mildly pleasant surprise it was pictures I shot of New York last summer; both the big city and upstate. I took some shots with my digital that I was immediately aware of, but these are much better.

See what I mean?

Another statue of liberty shot.

This the river in the town I lived in upstate New York; Clayton. On this day we were waiting for President Clinton to visit while on tour to gather Huricane Katrina aid. Across this river is Canada. Also Clinton didn’t show up that day … he landed down river because the water was less rough.

It is not enough to have a good mind. The main thing is to use it well…
